Detroit-born Karen Eriekson and Vicki Beamon moved to New York in the late 7()'s
and soon became part of the city's fashion scene.
While working
together on a friend's catwalk show in 1983, they were inspired to
create their own jewellery from suede, crystals, and beads as no
other Manhattan jeweller w as producing the type of pieces which they
were looking for. Soon afterwards they had a photographer friend
shoot one of their pieces and an advertisement w as placed in Andy
Warhol's
Interview Magazine
. This
attracted considerable interest from some of the most prestigious
stores in New York. After the great success in America, Vicki Beamon
moved to London in 1985, to oversee and manage the brand's European
expansion. In 1995 a flagship boutique in Belgravia was opened.
