Detroit-born Karen Eriekson and Vicki Beamon moved to New York in the late 7()'s and soon became part of the city's fashion scene. 





While working together on a friend's catwalk show in 1983, they were inspired to create their own jewellery from suede, crystals, and beads as no other Manhattan jeweller w as producing the type of pieces which they were looking for. Soon afterwards they had a photographer friend shoot one of their pieces and an advertisement w as placed in Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine

. This attracted considerable interest from some of the most prestigious stores in New York. After the great success in America, Vicki Beamon moved to London in 1985, to oversee and manage the brand's European expansion. In 1995 a flagship boutique in Belgravia was opened.








ERICKSON BEAMON 
The company produces a vast collection each season with a wide range of mini-collections. Their signature looks are intricately beaded necklaces and large 'chandelier' earrings, a phrase that they are credited with coining. Each of their fantasy pieces is hand-made by a team of craftspeople in their studios in New York and London using a variety of techniques, such as macrame, beading, and soldering.





A range of fine jewellery, Diamonds by Erickson Beamon, was launched in 2003, to coincide with the brand's 20th anniversary. 1 his was celebrated with a retrospective exhibition for the windows ot Barney's department store in New York City, curated by the store's Creative Director, Simon Doonan.

Erickson Beamon's designs, which today include sunglasses and home-ware such as chandeliers, mirrors and frames, are now sold in over 600 stores in 75 countries. Their jewellery can be seen on a wide range of celebrities, including Lady Gaga, Madonna, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Michelle Obama. Other pieces can be found in museum collections.




 A pair of 'Dollhouse' chandelier earrings is permanently housed at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of New York.





As well as creating their own collections, Krickson Beamon have collaborated with many high-end fashion houses, such as Donna Karan, John Galliano, Dries Van Noten, Zac Posen, and Anna Sui. At the other end of the scale, they have produced lines for high-street stores, including Britain's Debenhams and America's Target.
