WHISKY COCKTAILS

Distilleries
Co Ltd.
The distillery was eventually completed in 1887, the partners appointing one James Booth Henderson as distiller. Henderson, a well-known judge of livestock, used to stable his horses and cattle in the distillery; much to the distillery owners' displeasure when he was discovered.
WHISKY COCKTAILS
No doubt the cattle were well nourished from the large amounts of residual waste extracted during the distilling process, which is commonly used as feedstuff by farmers and stockmen. Glenrothes was enlarged in 1963 and 1980, and the number of stills increased to ten.
Glenrothes is not common as a single malt, since it has always been so popular with blenders. The proprietory bottling is done exclusively by Berry Bros & Rudd, the well-known London wine merchant (famous for its brand Cutty Sark).
As a single malt Glenrothes is also available in expressions from independent whisky bottlers.

Prop
@ 12 Years (43%): Tawny gold in colour,
with
a rich, sweet nose; plenty of fruit and sherry and a malty note. The
mouthfeel is smooth and the taste well balanced, starting sweet and
finishing dryish, with a raisiny aftertaste.
Adelphi
@ 20 Years (53.4%): Rich amber in colour, with tigs and sherry on the
nose, and an elegant fruity freshness. The flavour was raisiny, with
some sweet malt, and the finish drier than expected. A beautifully
balanced
malt.
