Disney Tinkerbell

Disney Tinkerbell

There is no better lady that epitomises that touch of magic more so than Tinker Bell

Disney Tinkerbell

Tinker Bell was first seen in the Classics collection during 1993/94 when a 12,500 Limited Edition piece came onto the market.

As it crossed over two years, two different backstamps/incision marks can be found, the Treble Clef which was to honour Disney's Academy Award winning 'Silly Symphonies' cartoons and the Dancing Flower to honour the first full colour cartoon ever created and the first Disney Academy Award winner - 'Flowers and Trees'.

This Limited edition is known simply as Tinker Bell on a block but the official title is 'A Firefly! A Pixie! Amazing!'. Here we see Tinker Bell on a child's building block with the letter A visible to the front (letters B, K and M are to the side and rear).

She has her head back and she is laughing so much she is holding her sides.

The sculpture is five inches tall and Tinker Bell's wings are in pearly aqua green whilst her dress is in a different shade of green and there are white 'pom-poms' on her shoes. This Limited Edition sculpture sells for £375.

This same colouring and detail can be found in two other Tinks'.
The second Tink to be brought out was for an 'Open House' Event,
which means it was only available for one weekend during 1996.

Here we see Tinker Bell as a hanging ornament on a Green Display Stand. She has her arms crossed and has a very superior expression on her face! Tinker Bell is four inches long whilst the Display stand is seven and a half inches high. This ornament with the stand sells for £100.

The latest Tinker Bell, is the Animator's Choice Sculpture (Members Only) called Tinker Bell Pauses to Reflect'. Here we see Tinker Bell on her tip-toes looking down at her reflection in a mirror. She is worried that she is putting on weight on her hips.

She is quite a vain little lady but with a huge personality that you cannot help but warm to. It is taken from the unforgettable shadow search scene in Peter Pan.

This Tinker Bell was available to Members of the Walt Disney Collectors Society and was in the region of £194. In1998 the Animator's choice sculpture was created from the favourite film moments of 'Walt Disney's Nine Old Men'.

These are the gifted original band of sculptors that Walt Disney surrounded himself with and it was his affectionate nick-name for them. The first animator is Marc Davis who remembers Tink as very jealous, pouting fairy. Peter Pan debuted in 1953 and remains one of the all time classic Disney films.

We skip now from the Tinker Bell's from the Classics Collection to a Tinker Bell from Swarovski. Tinker bell is created by an affiliation between Swarovski and a company called Arribas, who are based in the United States with shops in Disney theme parks. This Tinker Bell was a Limited Edition of 10,000 using Swarovski crystal stones.

The stones in, her wings are Aurora Borealis (like the Northern Lights) which means that when you turn her or when the light catches her wings you see a multitude of colours ranging from pink to yellow.

Tink's dress has green stones in of course and there are clear ones around the edges of the enamel base and around her feet. She stands over three inches tall and comes with an Arribas Crystal base and Plaque that reads 'Swarovski Jeweled Tinker Bell made exclusively for The Arribas Collection Limited edition of 10,000 pieces.

Inside the box containing the  Disney TinkerBell is a certificate which states This certifies that a Limited Edition of The Jeweled Tinker Bell has been produced using hand-set Swarovski crystal stones exclusively for the Arribas collection.
